Woodland Snack Mix

One of my favorite holiday memories takes place in my childhood kitchen. Mom and I would throw on our aprons and bake all day. Pecan dreams, gingersnaps, cranberry bread and puppy chow. Grandma’s fudge, spiced tea, and our favorite savory snack mix. We would bundle it all up and take plates, jars, and pretty tins to all of our neighbors and friends.
I have continued the tradition of sharing homemade goodies as an adult. This year I decided to try a healthy and gluten-free spin on the traditional snack mix by using parmesan cheese and Van’s Lots of Everything Crackers. The result is a perfect blend of spicy and savory, without all the butter. Follow the handy print out below and try making a batch of this Woodland Snack Mix with your family this holiday season. Wrap it up in a pretty jar, and you’ve got the perfect gift for everyone on your list. (And hopefully some new holiday memories too.)
Ingredients1 box of Van's Lots of Everything Crackers, 2 cups mini gluten free pretzels, 2/3 dry-roasted peanuts, 3 tablespoons freshly grated parmesan cheese, ½ teaspoon powdered garlic, ¼ teaspoon pepper, 1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper, 1 tablespoon olive oil,
Toss all ingredients together and roast in a single layer on a parchment-lined baking sheet at 300 degrees for 20 minutes. Package in pint jar with gold ribbon. Hot glue small pinecones to the top.
