Oh, the weather outside is frightful...
Well...I live in Phoenix. So the weather isn't frightful at all. In fact, it's glorious. This is the time of year we dream about all summer long.
But even though we aren't frozen, we still love to treat ourselves to holiday traditions like hot chocolate by the fire. I thought it would be fun to jazz up our hot cocoa this week with a little peppermint chocolate stir stick. I have seen these before, but didn't realize how easy they are to make. Pair with a Van's Snack Bar, and you have the perfect afternoon treat!
These stirrers are fun to make for yourself, but they would also make a great homemade gift! Happy holidays!
- chocolate chips, crushed candy canes
- Place 1/2 cup chocolate chips in a microwave safe bowl (make sure to get allergy-friendly chocolate chips if you need them). 2. Heat on high for 30 seconds. Give the chocolate chips a stir, then heat in 15 second increments until they are all melted. 3. Dip a plastic spoon into the chocolate, making sure to cover the back of the spoon. Let the excess drizzle back into the bowl, then place on parchment paper to dry.4. Repeat with remaining spoons. Sprinkle with crushed candy canes before chocolate hardens (I was able to find them already crushed with wholesome ingredients at my local grocery store).5. Serve with hot chocolate and a Van's Snack Bar.
