As a dietitian with celiac disease, May is one of my favorite months. Not only do we get to shine a light with Celiac Awareness Month, but we also get to share just how good gluten-free food can taste! One of the funniest things I hear from people is, "Oh I could never give up gluten, what would I eat?" Well, if your health depends on it, you will give up gluten in a heartbeat, and as for the food, you can eat everything you love thanks to companies like Van's Natural Foods.
I've put together five breakfast ideas that are easy to make, gluten-free, and delicious. Each breakfast has a combination of protein, fat, and carbohydrates to keep you energized all morning long. Try one or try them all!
Side note: If you suspect you have celiac disease, or a problem with gluten, make sure to get tested BEFORE going gluten-free for accurate test results. For more information on celiac disease, visit cureceliacdisease.org.
IngredientsCinnamon French Toast Sticks, Plain yogurt, Peanut butter,
Mix 6 ounces plain yogurt (I used coconut yogurt) with 3 tablespoons creamy peanut butter. Mix well until the dip is smooth. Serve with toasted Van's Gluten-Free Cinnamon French Toast Sticks. (The leftover dip is also great for fruit!)
