Question:
How does Van’s ensure their wheat free and gluten free waffles are really free of these allergens?
Answer:
Van’s uses good manufacturing practices and cross-contamination prevention practices. We have thorough sanitation procedures in place before and after making our Wheat Free (gluten free) waffles, including: making them on their own day, disposing of the first batch, and regular testing of each batch for the presence of gluten. We also strictly monitor all of our processes to keep allergens out of allergen free waffles.
Question:
Why are there different allergen statements on different waffle boxes? Some mention “good manufacturing practices” and/or nuts and tree nuts, while some do not.
Answer:
We recently revised our allergen statement (found on the back of the box under the nutrition list) to clearly indicate which allergens are in each of our waffle varieties. We have neither peanuts nor tree nuts in our facilities. Our frozen waffles are good for one year, so you may still encounter some of our old packaging that include the old allergen statements alongside our new packaging. Our manufacturing practices, however, have not changed! Here at Van’s, we are proud to continue our years-long tradition of providing healthy and wholesome waffles to our valued consumers.
Question:
Are your waffles really free of the allergens as stated on the box?
Answer:
Yes! Since Van’s is the company that specializes in dietary needs like wheat free, dairy free, yeast free, and egg free, it is very important to us to offer these safely to our valued consumers. We strictly monitor the production of all our waffles to ensure they contain only those allergens that are listed on the label.
Question:
Which of your waffles are vegan?
Answer:
All of Van’s wheat free and organic waffles are vegan.
