At Van’s, our mission is to provide wholesome food that’s so delicious, it’s easy to eat healthy. Furthermore, we believe right down to our core that everyone should have tasty food that’s good for them.
That’s why we’re excited to have had the opportunity to partner with The Today Show’s “Lend a Hand.” The initiative, started nine years ago by Al Roker after 9/11, searches the nation looking for small charities that do great things but need some help.
As part of the program, Van’s donated $10,000 worth of waffles to the Iowa Homeless Youth Centers, an organization that works to eliminate homelessness among children, teens and young adults in the Des Moines, IA area. The Centers provide food, shelter, crisis counseling, service referrals, transitional housing, employment help, education help and life skills training. It even has two outreach vans that canvass the streets, providing children and teens without homes food and a place to stay.
Van’s is proud of the good work the Iowa Homeless Youth Centers is doing, and we thank them and the Today Show for allowing us to be a part of making the lives of these children, teens and young adults better.
